27.09.2012 - Buachaille on my Birthday!

This morning, as is my birthday tradition to be on a mountain route, Ali and I made our way up North Buttress on Buachaille etive Mor. We were lucky enough to have the weather on our side until we had completed one of my favourite scrambles (and arguably the best on the Buachaille) and were well on the descent. A first ascent for Ali as she had previously never set foot on the Buachaille and a fine route to bag this iconic peak. Big well done to my gorgeous girlfriend who described the route as "scary and hard but I survived!"

22.09.2012 - Ben Nevis Charity Ascent

With good conditions, I lead my group on an ascent of Ben Nevis via the mountain path in aid of a charity fundraising event. Well done to all my group on their successful summit, with an age range of 18 - 67!  Well done guys!

21.09.2012 - Ben Nevis night hike

On a very still and cloudless night I began leading my group on a night hike ascent of Ben Nevis from the visitor centre car park, making steady progress, we made our way up to the snow capped summit. Although conditions couldn't have been better it was a tad chilly a the top so we set about descending before too long! Well done to Corrina, Mike and Katie on their successful summit trip to the roof of Great Britain!

19.09.2012 - Yorkshire 3 Peaks

Big well done to my group on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. The 3 peaks challenge is a gruelling test of stamina and endurance, spanning 24.5 miles and taking in Pen-Y-Ghent (2277ft), Whernside (2415ft) and Ingleborough (2372ft) with the tradition being that you complete all of the above, starting and finishing in Horton in Ribblesdale within 12hrs. I can proudly say that my group of Chris, Dave, Trevor and Dave finished in 11hrs 3 mins, Well Done guys!

15.09.2012 -Somerston Hotels 3 Peaks Challenge

On a busy day on the Ben I set off with my group from Somerston Hotels on the first peak of their three peaks challenge, with a target summit time of 3hrs and descent time of 2hrs, a few team members struggled with the fast pace and had to withdraw themselves from the team effort to summit.  Of the 7 we set off with, we did however have 3 successful team members on the summit and even made up some lost time with a very fast descent, making it back to the mini bus in a total time of 5hrs and 5mins!  Well done guys and I hope the rest of the challenge went well for you all.

My 3 summiteers enjoying a very brief stop at the top!
